An excerpt from a life history interview conducted by members of the Down the Fort documentary and archive project with Sara Favazza in 2010 at her home in Gloucester, MA. A native of Gloucester who was raised in the Fort neighborhood of the city, Sara was born in 1930. She passed away at the age of 90 in 2020. In this interview excerpt, Sara recounts with love and reverence a story her father used to tell about ethnic prejudice he endured as a Sicilian immigrant new to the city of Gloucester at the turn of the last century.
